A number of scholarships and visa opportunities are now available for international students to study in Canada. The University of Minnesota Twin Cities is inviting applications from interested international students for some tuition discounts and visa assistance for the next academic year.

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities Academic scholarships

1. Global Excellence Scholarship

All international freshman and transfer students attending on an F1 visa who are admitted for fall admission are automatically considered for a Global Excellence Scholarship. For the 2021-2022 academic year, international freshmen can receive scholarships of $25,000, $15,000 or $10,000 per year for up to four years. Transfer students may receive $10,000 per year for up to three years when entering the University in the fall semester. Transfer students entering in spring semester will be considered for scholarships only on a funds-available basis.

2. Undergraduate Research Scholarship

New international freshman admitted to the University also will be considered for the Undergraduate Research Scholarship. Undergraduate research at the University spans all academic disciplines and interests.

3. ISSS Need-Based Scholarships

A small number of additional need-based scholarships for international students also are available through International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
